CARRÉ D’ART – CONTEMPORARY ART MUSEUM
Place de la Maison Carrée, 30000 Nîmes
At Carré d’Art – Contemporary Art Museum, artists Hugo Laporte and Katja Novitskova propose the foundations of a museum and archaeological institution from a time we don’t yet know, though not so far from our own. It brings together what could be the traces and artifacts of a humanity to come, grappling with increasingly troubling ecological, technological, geopolitical and cultural issues. The “Oracle Museum” is built around a fictional museography, featuring a wide variety of objects, images, sounds, mythologies and characters made by the artists with machines and artificial intelligence, to give us a glimpse of a future that can still be avoided.
