LA KERMESSE

To celebrate the end of the Contemporaine de Nîmes and the arrival of summer, Mohamed Bourouissa is organizing a large-scale artistic fair in Pissevin, free and open to all, in the square outside the CACN – Contemporary Art Center. A number of young artists from the south of France have been invited to collaborate with structures and residents of the Pissevin and Valdegour districts, to create game-like artworks. The traditional stalls and activities of a fair are thus revisited and brought to life by pairs of artists and residents over the course of an afternoon. Echoing a similar project carried out in the summer of 2023 in Gennevilliers, near Paris, Mohamed Bourouissa intends to bring together artists and local residents of all generations in a festive and unifying project, with this event and its preparation throughout the duration of the Contemporaine de Nîmes.
