OPENING WEEKEND

On April 5, 6 and 7, 2024, visit the 1^st Contemporaine de Nîmes during its opening weekend, punctuated by numerous key events.

And all weekend long, the entire program, including the exhibition “La Fleur et la Force” [The Flower and the Strength], is free!

THE PROGRAM

FRIDAY, APRIL 5

• 6-10pm: opening of the “La Fleur et la Force” exhibition and “La Fugue”, a musical journey through the city with Uèle Lamore and students from the Conservatoire de Nîmes.

SATURDAY, APRIL 6

• From 10am: free access to the exhibition “La Fleur et la Force” [The Flower and the Strength].
• 11am: opening of the collective exhibition “Channel” at CACN – Contemporary Art Center.
• 12pm: opening of Fatima Mazmouz’s solo exhibition at Negpos – Photographic Art Center.
• 1pm: meeting with artists Clara Nébinger and Noureddine Benhamed at Atelier Étant donné in prefiguration of their residencies.
• 2-6 pm: associated festival of the École supérieure des beaux-arts de Nîmes (ésban).
• 4pm-5pm: premiere of Rayane Mcirdi’s film “La Promesse”, accompanied by Virgil Vernier, at Cinema Le Sémaphore.
• 5pm: opening of the collective exhibition “Sérum Anti-Âge” at Pamela Artist-run-space and Won Jy’s solo exhibition “Extra-muros” at On/Off.
• 6pm-1am: “La Boum”, grand opening party in the Arena with Aïda Bruyère, Barbara Butch, Jacqelyn Elder and Clément LM.

SUNDAY, APRIL 7

• From 10am: free access to the exhibition “La Fleur et la Force” and to the associated program (CACN – Contemporary Art Center, Negpos – Photographic Art Center, Atelier Étant donné, Pamela Artist-run-space, On/Off).
• From 12pm: opening parties at the three “Houses” of the Contemporaine.
