Hugo Laporte

Hugo Laporte has been an artist and DJ since 1990. After studying at art schools and music conservatories in Nîmes and Annecy, Hugo Laporte took part in several collective exhibitions at Sault-au-Recollet, (Montreal), Nicoletti contemporary (London), Topic (Geneva), Komplot (Brussels) and soon at the Palais des Beaux-Arts in Paris. He is currently benefiting from the GENERATOR #10 residency at 40mcube in Rennes, which has provided him with the support he needs to develop part of the project presented at the Contemporaine de Nîmes, thanks to the company Self Signal and its team. Hugo Laporte’s approach is hybrid, non-binary, experimental and sensitive. Confrontations between high tech, mid tech and low tech, chosen or imposed collaborations with machines and technological tools (Artificial Intelligences, handmade 3D printing, computer-assisted music software, etc.), the propositions are varied and attempt to cause historical and identity confusion, thanks to a playful trans-archaeological approach to mediums and forms.
